[edit] 2008 fire
On February 7, 2008 the historic building of "Schukin's stage" (Russian: Щукинская сцена) suffered damage from the fire [1] which began at the nightclub for the rich. The nightclub, named "Dyagilev Project" and opened here since march 2006, burnt down completely in this huge flame. Emergency services use a special helicopter trying to extinguish a fire. The roof and wooden beams of the building collapsed, leaving a solid brick wall remaining on site. Administrative part of the building was not affected. The official investigation concluded that a short-circuit caused the fire. Another official said that this historic building should be restored.
