[edit] Aircraft
- During the Spanish Civil War, the republicans referred to their Polikarpov I-16 as moscas, may be because of the tiny size of the plane (Mosca means "fly" -the insect- in spanish) or perhaps because of the sound of their engine. Their opponents, the rebel nationalists, called this enemy plane rata, which means "rat", maybe by disrespect.
