User talk:MoreGunsInSchools

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This account with this username has been blocked indefinitely because the username may be rude or inflammatory, be unnecessarily long or confusing, be too similar to an existing user, contain the name of an organization or website, refer to a Wikipedia or Wikimedia Foundation process or namespace, or be otherwise inappropriate (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

You are encouraged to create a new account and contribute to Wikipedia under an appropriate username. Our username policy provides guidance on selecting your username.

Alternately, you may request a change in username if you want to keep the contributions from this account. To do so, please follow these directions:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can still edit your own talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked.
  3. You will have 24 hours after the unblock to file a request before you may be re-blocked. Please note, you may only request a name that is not already in use; do not create the new account then request a name change. For more information, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username.

In many cases (especially if your account has few or no edits), it is much easier to create a new account. You may also edit Wikipedia without creating an account. Due to Wikipedia's mechanism for enforcing name changes, your IP address may be temporarily blocked. Unless you have also been engaging in vandalism or impersonation of another user, we will remove that block as soon as possible.

If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.

However, I must warn you, careful about the disruption you've been causing (editing other people's user pages etc) or else I will be forced to permanently block you for that instead. Sorry, but that's how it goes. Otherwise, good lcuk on Wiki! Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 21:32, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Just got your message to me. How is my name vulgar? You're the first person I've ever had complain. The problem with MoreGunsInSchools is that it refers to a pretty nasty piece of the real world; we'd rather you had a 'nice' username without that sort of thing. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 21:34, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
If you read the question, he's not really complaining, he's confused because his similar username was blocked. If you read the reply I left him, you'll find out what the problem was, and that I told him I didn't expect any problems if he wanted to go on and use essentially the same name. Anyway, whatever happened to you requesting a name change, which was, after all, the whole reason you were unblocked? Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 21:47, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
While this page is still active, I'm going to comment... :) I'm not sure that I see this name as offensive (I know, if I noticed it, I probably wouldn't block it. I only came across it when I saw the unblock request.). Perhaps this would be one best left to be discussed at RFCN? Either way, MoreGuns, you agreed to arrange to have your name changed, what ever happened with that? SQLQuery me! 18:20, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
I've been keeping an eye on you. You seem pretty keen not to change. Ok, this is what I'll do for you. I'll create an entry at WP:RFCN on your name, and there'll be a larger discusion on it. We'll see what happens. Although, to be honest, I still think it'd be better if you changed - the alternative you suggested would work fine! I'll also keep you unblocked for now, and leave it up to someone else to close the debate at WP:RFCN. How's that sound to you? Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 21:50, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
The RFCN mentioned above can be found here: Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/User_names#MoreGunsInSchools SQLQuery me! 00:55, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Blocked

I strongly beleive, that you've created a second account (User:Every Child Should Carry A Gun!), which we call a Sockpuppet, in order to influence a debate (Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/User_names#MoreGunsInSchools) involving you. This is not permitted here, and, I have blocked you from editing for it. You may request that another administrator review this block, by placing {{unblock|your reason here}}, below this notice. This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "I didn't create any sockpuppet."

Decline reason: "The contributions of that other account indicate otherwise. — Sandstein 15:57, 29 October 2007 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

Request reason: "I'm not getting a fair hearing here. I didn't create any sockpuppet. I don't think that somebody's 'feeling' about it can be determined conclusive. I didn't create any sockpuppet."

Decline reason: "Obvious abusive sockpuppet. Combined with your refusal to request a username change after being unblocked for that purpose, the block is clearly appropriate. — Yamla 16:32, 29 October 2007 (UTC)"
