Huh?

Apparently non-admins can close discussions when the consensus is keep. See Wikipedia:Deletion process. Not sure I agree that that's what the policy says.

Don't be a dick

The following is taken word-for-word from Wikimedia Don't be a dick. If Admins took this to heart, most of the disputes they find themselves in would go away, and Wikipedia would be a happier and more useful space.

Why is it a bad thing?

Generally speaking, if you are being a dick, the likelihood of whatever point you are trying to make (or whatever you're doing) reaching the ears of your intended audience dramatically (even exponentially) diminishes. Why? Simple: no one likes listening to dicks, no matter how correct or in the right they are.

Remedies

If you've been labeled as a dick, or if you suspect that you yourself may be one, there is hope. The first step is to realize that you are being a dick. Ask yourself what is causing you to be one. Change your behavior and your mode of presentation. If needed, apologize to anyone who you may have been a dick to. It's okay! People will take notice of your willingness to cooperate and will almost always meet your efforts with increased respect.

The template {{TestTemplates}} is deprecated. Please use {{WP:UTM}} instead.

These templates should always be used with the subst: keyword, as suggested on Wikipedia:Template substitution. They are shown without subst: here to reduce the space occupied by this large table. For example, type {{subst:test}}, not {{test}}, to warn common first-time vandals.

To coordinate numbers, the previous blanking 2, 3, and 4 templates have been moved because they were out of sync with the numbering usage with other templates. The old templates, though not listed, can still be used as they redirect to the new name and number.

The numbering system being used across the templates is simple:

0. Good faith edit
1. General note
2. Could be seen as vandalism
3. Warning to stop
4. Final warning
5. Blocked
6. Blocked plus severe warning

If you are creating new templates, please follow the numbers above, even if you are not creating templates using all the numbers. That way, by using the right number, users will be able to know automatically what category of message the template refers to.

First Deletion Reason: Pursuant to WP:BLP regarding Non-Public Figures: “Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid. It is not our job to be sensationalist, or to be the primary vehicle for the spread of titillating claims about people's lives.”[2] Subject of the article is non-notable, except for a flurry of speculation in 2001 regarding Joe Scarborough’s involvement in her death, and mention in a local Florida newspaper, and that time has long passed. Article seems to be created for the sole purpose of disparaging Joe Scarborough. I don’t care for Scarborough, but having this article gives undue weight to a story which has been thoroughly discredited, and as such violates WP:NPOV#Undue weight -- there is no investigation of Scarborough, and the Coroner said Klausutis did not die under suspicious circumstances – its inclusion here is sensationalist and tabloidic, not encyclopedic. This article was deleted once before. Only 842 hits on google, most of which are blogs. If this information is notable at all, put it in the Scarborough article, and leave sensationalism to The National Enquirer. Wikipedia is not a battleground

First Deletion Reason: Subject is non-notable, with few sources other than to WP:FRINGE web sites like Prisonplanet.com, Truthdig.com and Information Clearinghouse (which has already been deleted as non-notable). Merge into the questionably notable Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity.
