[edit] Punctuation

I appreciate efforts made to replace shoddy punctuation, (I tend to be a pedant myself) but I notice people replacing commas with hyphens. It seems almost arbitrary and is done even when a comma is used to break a sentence into clauses or place a breathing space.

Is there a wiki convention that over-rules the English grammar rules?
