[edit] Trams

Can anyone confirm that trams (still) go between Morecambe and Blackpool? And where do I buy tickets? :) Lupin 20:37, 3 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Definitely rubbish. I've deleted the claim. I suspect they're thinking of Fleetwood.Average Earthman 12:17, 4 Mar 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Midland hotel

I really doubt that the midland hotel will be restored to its former glory and open for business in 2006, as it is now Feb 2006 and it doesn't look any were near ready (see picture).--JK the unwise 18:38, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

There are no trams left in Morecambe. None of the trams are running. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.31.43.149 (talk) 22:23, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tone of the page

As far as I can see, much of this page has an inappropriate tone for an encyclopaedia entry; in places it reads like an advertisement or a travel / tourism guide. RobinCarmody

I live in Morecambe and the Midland hotel is currently being restored! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.31.43.149 (talk) 22:21, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Famous People From Morecambe

It appears that only two of the people supposedly "from" Morecambe were actually born there. Would it not be more sensible to follow the convention set by other towns, such as Ilkley, where the section is entitled Notable residents? The convention allows the listing of resident "notables" both past and present if the link with the town is deemed important enough. The exact nature of a particular person's relationship with the town should already be specified on their own page. --Richardob 12:22, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Drug Problems

"The whole of Morecambe became an extremely run-down town with severe cocaine, heroin and alcoholism problems".

I don't think so. Maybe "parts" of the town but definitely not the whole of it. Certainly not the area I live in. I think this exaggeration should be amended. W00tmagic 09:25, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

"The whole of Morecambe became an extremely run-down town with severe cocaine, heroin and alcoholism problems". The problems listed are mainly confined to the West End of Morecambe. --84.68.108.36 17:52, 9 October 2007 (UTC) I believe this is true. The West End is the Problem! There are other parts of Morecambe that are still extremely respectable, i.e. Torrisholme

[edit] Frontierland's closure

The text states it closed in 1999, the picture states 2000. They can't both be right! 161.12.7.4 10:30, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

I think it was 2000. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.68.108.36 (talk) 17:18, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
