Morvi dam burst

The Morvi dam burst is the worst flood disaster to happen in independent India. On August 12,1979, the dam, situated on the Manchhu, river burst and that sent a wall of water through the town of Morvi in Indian state of Gujarat killing about 15,000 people. [1]
