Mortlake railway station is in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, in south London, and is in Travelcard Zone 3. The station and all trains serving it are operated by South West Trains. Postal District and boundary changes over many years mean that Mortlake Station now serves the area known as East Sheen (or Sheen High Street, a shopping district within which the station is centrally located). Mortlake itself is no longer a defined area but refers to a stretch of the Thames associated with the famous university boat race.
