Morgaushsky District

Morgaushsky District (Russian: Морга́ушский райо́н; Chuvash: Муркаш районĕ) is a district (raion) of the Chuvash Republic, Russia. The district's administrative center, the village of Morgaushi, is located 42 kilometers (26 mi) from Chuvashia's capital city of Cheboksary. District's population: 37,127 (2002 Census); 38,465 (1989 Census).

The district was formed on February 10, 1944. It is situated in the northern part of Chuvashia, bordering the Mari El Republic in the north, Cheboksarsky District in the east, Alikovsky District in the south, and Yadrinsky District in the west.

The head of the Morgaushsky District administration is Yury Alexandrovich Ivanov.
