The Morgan-Manning House is an historic house located in Brockport, New York. It was built by John Ostrom in 1854.
The home derives its significance from a later owner, Dayton S. Morgan, a onetime Erie Canal clerk who established an ironworks that manufactured reapers designed by Cyrus McCormick. When the company designed its own reaper on the same principles, McCormick sued.[1] Morgan was a cousin of J. P. Morgan.
The house was a private residence occupied by descendants of Morgan until 1964, when a fire heavily damaged the house, killing Sara Morgan-Manning, its final occupant. The Western Monroe Historical Society began restoring the home in 1965 and it was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
