Morgan, Grenfell & Co.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Morgan, Greenfell & Co. was a London investment bank, which traces its routes back to the J.S. Morgan & Co. founded by Americans George Peabody and Junius S. Morgan in 1854 and later J.P. Morgan & Co., founded in 1871.

The firm specialized in selling American bonds to British investors.

In 1904, Edward Grenfell was made a partner in the firm, and, in 1909, it underwent a further change of name to become Morgan, Grenfell and Company.

In 1990, Morgan, Grenfell was acquired by Deutsche Bank and was renamed Deutsche Morgan Greenfell. The Morgan Greenfell name is no longer used by Deutsche Bank.[1]
