Moretna Jiru

Moretna Jiru (Amharic "Moret and Jiru") is one of the 105 woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Semien Shewa Zone, Moretna Jiru is bordered on the south by Siyadebrina Wayu Ensaro, on the west by Lay Betna Tach Bet, on the north by Gera Midira Keya Gebriel, and on the east by Debre Berhan Zuria. The administrative center is Enewari.
Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 106,802, of whom 53,050 were males and 53,752 were females; 12,570 or 11.77% of its population are urban dwellers, which is about the same as the Zone average of 11.8%. With an estimated area of 695.16 square kilometers, Moretna Jiru has an estimated population density of 153.6 people per square kilometer, which is greater than the Zone average of 134.37.[1] Towns in the woreda include Jihur.
