[edit] History

The band was formed by Einar Darri (former member of the rock groups The Followers) and Ingo (Singer for the band Severed Crotch) in April of 2005. While they were drunk, they recorded a song called "My Money and Children" which was the first song by Morbid Chid. The original name of the band was Morbid Child, but due to a spelling error; the name was Morbid Chid. Soon after their first song was recorded, Bjarni Gautur (of HAMMER-CRAFT fame) said he would love to be known as "GasMask Man" and together with Einar Darri (who later used "Ghost" as his pseudonym) they wrote what would become their most famous song to date; "The Scat Easter Bunny". They have made over a hundred songs since then, each differing greatly in terms of style.

Their songs usually focus on subjects such as rape, incest, horror films, snuff, all kinds of sex, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and other general depravity; all whilst keeping a comedic tone. The band has already released numerous CDs such as "The Zombie With No Shoes", "The Hunchback of the Ice Cream Store", "Morbidly Grinding Organs" and "There's a UFO in my Backyard and I'll I've got is a Ketchup Bottle". The band took a small break in December 2006 so they could work on new material and start with a fresh new sound in the beginning of 2007.

They have gained something of a cult following, attracting over a thousand users on the popular MySpace website and continue to perform new material for their fans.

[edit] Nocturnal Bath

A couple of months after Morbid Chid were created in 2005, Nocturnal Bath, a buddy-band made by a friend of Morbid Chid co-creators Ingo and Darri creating false band members (Raging Baby Dick Fuck, Sir Isaac Newton, Child Molestör and Incest Mutilator), the music was death metal made using Guitar Pro with vocals by Nocturnal Bath singer Chainsaw Smeggster singing over the songs with original lyrics such as the demise of the infamous Goatse guy and a Whale and his penis. The band has 'released' three Cd's and are constantly performing with Morbid Chid, having the 'band members' guest appear in many Morbid Chid songs and Raging Baby Dick Fuck would appear live with Morbid Chid their second time on stage. Morbid Chid and Nocturnal Bath are also in a 'band' together called Nocturnal Chid with a CD that has been in production since 2005 called Morbid Bath. The songs feature a rhythm made by the Nocturnal Bath 'crew' and Darri in Guitar Pro then has them singing over it and Darri playing guitar, also features many other Morbid Chid members at times (such as GasMask Man and Ingo).

[edit] Ruoh Shur

Even though Morbid Chid have created over 30 new songs, they have not released any of them (or any CD's) since December 2006. Around May 2007, Morbid Chid went on hiatus, and Darri and Bjarni are now working on a side-project called Ruoh Shur with Siggi Jökull (of Alföður-fame) who also has worked on various Morbid Chid song (as the keyboards for 'Paris Nocturne' and singing for the Main Evil Boss in 'Main Theme from Clockwork Warriors' and Vin Diesel in 'That Deformed Cyclops is My Father'. 6 Ruoh Shur songs are completelly finished and a CD will be released in December 2007 called 'Tree-0-zid3' referring to the genocide of trees (done by the band members in the song 'Tree Bash'). Darri has stated, that a MySpace profile will be made for fans to download all the songs, but so far, the songs haven't been made public as of yet.
