Hi Folks, Can someone clarify the definition of "harbour" and "port" used in this article? I just came back from Mopti. I can live with the notion of harbour if one considers the little enclave in the river as one. But I definitely didn't see any infrastructure which would justify the use of the term "port".

I suppose it depends on how you define port and harbour. I understand a harbour to be someplace boats moor which is protected or sheltered from the remaining waterway, and a port to be someplace cargo is loaded and unloaded from vessels. So I would argue that that Mopti is certainly a port and possibly a harbour (I can't remember seeing any breakwaters there which enclose an area from the river).
