"Mood for a Day" is a three-minute nylon guitar instrumental tune by English rock band Yes. It was written by Steve Howe.
The song is included in the album Fragile and as all five members of the band contributed one track of their own design to this album, Steve Howe did this as a solo guitar piece.
A longer version appears on the live album Yessongs.
Steve Howe considers the writing of the piece a turning point to do that kind of classical/Spanish influenced flamenco music. His contribution to Queen's song "Innuendo" is an example of this.
Recently, the Steve Howe Trio created a new arrangement for the song, with electric guitar and lasting almost 10 minutes. This arrangement is in their album, The Haunted Melody.
