Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:BasilHarwood.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

[edit] And now a message from a human being...

Welcome!

Hello, MonicaHarwood, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome!

Nice work on the Basil Harwood page, by the way - thought there must be a family link, given your user name, and the photo you've added gives a fairly strong hint of one! I'm one of the members of the Wikipedia Pipe Organ Project, which looks to improve articles on organs and organists, and your help is greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you've got any questions and I'll do what I can to help. Regards, BencherliteTalk 00:47, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

After reading his article and talking to you, I now have his A-flat Magnificat going round in my head! (Not that I'm complaining - it's a fine piece of music.) I think the tag you've placed on the photo should prevent it being deleted for now, although we might be able to work out the best tag together. (Image licensing is a tricky business and I try to avoid it whenever possible, but as I offered...(!)) It looks to be an old photograph anyway, judging from his appearance (in his 40s?), and so could well be out of copyright anyway. Do you have a idea of when the photo was taken, and who by? (I'm logging out now, but will check by tomorrow). Regards, BencherliteTalk 01:24, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
I think that tag will do for now - I don't think anyone's going to question your use of a very old family photo anyway! Regards, and happy editing. BencherliteTalk 19:24, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] George Jennings South Western Pottery

Thanks for linking the Parkstone page (which I started) with your article on George Jennings. My father, grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as various other members of my family, worked at the Pottery in Pottery Road, Parkstone, during a large part of the 20th century - indeed until its takeover and subsequent closure, when my father was made redundant. Have you any further information on the Pottery itself, as opposed to the (nonethelss interesting) biographical detail on George Jennings? If so, perhaps between us we could produce an article on the Pottery? I have several old photos of the site, including the kilns, and of the Peckett tank engine 'George Jennings' with my great-grandfather on the footplate. Was George Jennings one of your ancestors? PS I now see see from looking more closely at the article and at the comments about Basil Harwood above that you must be descended from his daughter...sorry to be so dim! Abbeybufo (talk) • (contribs) 10:06, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
I'd love to see that catalogue at some time!!! Where are you - are you local to Parkstone? - or anywhere near me at Romsey? Or would you be prepared to post it to me? --Abbeybufo (talk) • (contribs) 09:46, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Did you know

Updated DYK query On 27 September 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article George Jennings, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

[edit] John hudleston

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of John hudleston, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://huddleston.bravepages.com/history/fatherhudd.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 23:50, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
