Talk:Monoku

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have strong doubts as to whether 'monoku' deserves its own article. Afaik, this is a term used by Dennis Garrison (and precious few else) to describe haiku written in a single line. Many renowned English-language haijin, such as Marlene Mountain and Janice Bostok, write (exclusively or otherwise) in this style, but refer to it simply as 'one-line haiku' or 'one-line ku'. I believe the term (along with such oddities as haiqua and cirqua) at most merits a small mention in the haiku article. Counter-arguments?--Yumegusa (talk) 22:36, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

By comparison, there is no article on rengay, which is a lot better known and more widespread than 'monoku'
