Talk:Monitor Theory

[edit] Creation of page
I created this page because there was no dedicated article for the (rather important and controversial) hypotheses of Stephen Krashen. The material was already on Wikipedia, but it was buried in a discussion of something completely different at the Critical Period Hypothesis page. I ripped it out, set up this page and added the 'further reading' and 'links' sections. Also, the introduction has been slightly modified. Jsteph 05:25, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I think that this should be completely redone
There are already separate articles for each of the 5 hypotheses. Additionally, this page is titled incorrectly- the monitor theory is not the name for all 5 of the theories, it is but a part of the larger picture. The monitor theory or hypothesis is only one of Krashen's 5 fundamental theories of second language acquisition. If this article were to be kept, I think it should be titled "Krashen's theories of language acquisition" or some such something. Lpjurca (talk) 04:10, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Changes
I have made several changes to this article, including linking it to the more in-depth information provided by the other articles on Krashen's Theories. Additionally, I added sources and citations, along with more in-depth information about the Monitor Theory. I feel that these changes make this article more valuable to those seeking information about the Monitor Theory and Krashen's other theories. Lpjurca (talk) 21:17, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
