Monty On The Bonty was a parody of Mutiny on the Bounty which featured in part of a programme made by Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise in 1971 and featured Dad's Army star Arthur Lowe as Captain Bligh and several other members of the cast of the situation comedy who appeared briefly as crew members. These are Clive Dunn, John Le Mesurier, James Beck, Ian Lavender and Arnold Ridley. In a clever piece of writing by Eddie Braben the character played by John Le Mesurier says in reaction to Lowe's comment that he'll see Fletcher Christian hang from the highest yardarm in Portsmouth harbour - "do you think that's wise?" (one of his catchprases from Dad's Army} only for Lowe to retort in suitably dry fashion - "no, no, that's Morecambe" to great effect.]
