Monty Lewis is the head football coach for Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.[1]

Before coaching at Friends, Lewis was the head coach for the Southwestern College Moundbuilders and led the team to a record of 60 wins and 32 losses during his tenure to become the "all-time winningest coach in school history"[2] including a 1996 Wheat Bowl victory against Baker University.[3] In terms of head coach winning percentage at Southwestern, Lewis ranks #6 overall.

As a player for the Southwestern College Moundbuilders, Lewis was an NAIA All-American in 1983 and 1984[4] where he played for head coaches Dennis Franchione and Charlie Cowdrey.[5], including the 1982 Sunflower Bowl victory.[6]
