Started in 2004, The Montreal Reggae Festival is held annually at the Old Port of Montreal, during the 2nd weekend of July. The Montreal Reggae Festival attracts many larger reggae acts and is slowly growing to be one of the most popular reggae events in Eastern North America.
Since its foundation in 2004, the Montreal Reggae Fest’ has ranked among the top annual festivals held in Montreal each year. It’s a 3-day weekend-long, 3-stages event that is by far the largest of its kind in Canada held in one of Montreal’s hottest touristic outdoor venues; the Old Port of Montreal waterfront quays.
Along with the Just for Laughs Festival and the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Reggae Fest is “a must-see event”, as promoted by Tourism Montreal. The Festival provides an ideal site for exhibitors and sponsors to promote their products and services to the vast festival audience.
What began as a small not-for-profit festival has grown to an annual event that currently attracts over 30,000 people with fans traveling from across the globe to attend. The combination of internationally acclaimed artists, ethnic arts and crafts exhibits, a smorgasbord of cultural cuisines, a dedicated children’s area, the free “Loto-Quebec” stage, the free “One Love” kids stage, and the “Heineken” main stage performances, multimedia attractions along with countless other activities give attendees reason to spend the entire day’ on site and stay on for the evening performances.
The Montreal Reggae Fest’ is one of today’s most exciting and dynamic multicultural festivals in Canada. The timelessness and universality of reggae music continues to attract an ever-expanding audience. We are focused, dedicated, committed, and passionate about producing a not-to-be missed multicultural event each and every year.
