Monteiro Lobato, São Paulo

Coordinates: 22°57′24″S, 45°50′23″W Monteiro Lobato is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. The population in 2004 was 3,736, with a density of 11.2 inhabitants/km² in an area of 333.59 km².

The municipality was named in honor of Brazilian writer José Bento Monteiro Lobato, who was born in the nearby city of Taubaté, and had a farm in the area of the municipality.
