Montecastrilli is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Terni in the Italian region Umbria, located about 50 km south of Perugia and about 15 km northwest of Terni. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,888 and an area of 62.4 km².[1]
The municipality of Montecastrilli contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Casteltodino, Farnetta, Collesecco, and Castel dell'Aquila.
Montecastrilli borders the following municipalities: Acquasparta, Amelia, Avigliano Umbro, Guardea, Narni, San Gemini, Terni.
