Monte Vermelho (Portuguese for red mountain in contrast of its soil color) is Sal's tallest mountain located in the northeastern part of the island in Cape Verde. The location of the mountain is not far from its island's tallest mountain Monte Grande. The mountain and its ranges is entirely of volcanic origin. The mountain are entirely deforested and vegetation are very rare. It is also inaccessible by roads. The panorama offers a view to most of the whole island except for the southern part and around several mountains on the island.
