Monte Ceneri transmitter

The Monte Ceneri transmitter is the nationwide transmitter for Italian speaking Switzerland, working on 558 kHz, located on the Monte Ceneri in Ticino, Switzerland.

It has been in service since 1933 and currently has a transmission power of 300 kilowatts. As aerial a 220 metre high guyed steel framework mast at 46°08′19.16″N, 8°59′25.51″E is used, which is insulated against ground. It was built in the 1970s and is one of Switzerland's tallest constructions.
