Monte Boulanger is an author. His first novel In the Sweet Light, was published in 2001. He published under the pen name Alex Boulanger.

Boulanger was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and attended Caney Valley High School in Caney, Kansas. Later, he attended Coffeyvillle Community College (Kansas) and Pittsburg State University (Kansas). He received a BBA in Finance from PSU. He currently lives in Bentonville, Arkansas.

- Boulanger is a citizen of the Osage Nation and is an eighth generation descendant of Osage Chief Pawhuska.
- Charles Curtis, the 31st Vice President of the United States was the Great-Great-Great Grandson of Chief Pawhuska. Curtis was the first American Indian to hold the office.
- Boulanger's paternal uncle, Leon Boulanger, was a fiddle player for Ernest Tubb for a short time in the late 1960s. Tubb's band was known as The Texas Troubadours.
