Montana Governor's Residence

Montana Governor's Residence is located at 2 Carson Street, Helena, Montana. It open in 1959 replacing the old Governor's Mansion. The residence is a two level steel and concrete house located two blocks from the Montana State Capitol building.

In 1913, the state of Montana acquired a Queen Anne style mansion to serve as the official residence for the Governor of Montana. The Original Montana Governor's Mansion was built in 1888 by William Chessman. Between 1913 and 1959 it was home to nine Montana governors and their families.
