Frank's powers manifested at the age of 33. After receiving them, not knowing his own strength, he accidentally caused the ceiling of his house to cave in, killing his wife and daughter. Not wanting to go to jail, Frank went on the run, becoming a firefighter for a short time until the publicity from his miraculous saves drew too much attention.[2] He now works for Damage Control, cleaning up sites of superpowered battles.

Frank is being considered as a "potential recruit" for the Initiative program, according to Civil War: Battle Damage Report.
