Monster cam is a camera effect, long established in horror movies, of framing the shot as if from the "monster's" point of view. Typically this involves a unsteady camera that brushes aside leaves in the foreground as the "monster" lumbers through the jungle, etc. Another variant is slowly approaching the victim from the rear.
