Monodilepas otagoensis is a keyhole limpet, which is a kind of sea snail. This is a subspecies of marine gastropod mollusc in the family Fissurellidae, the keyhole limpets and slit limpets.

This subspecies is endemic to New Zealand. It is found off the coast of Otago at the south of the South Island.

This keyhole limpet is found at depths of up to 90 m.
[edit] Shell description
Only one subadult holotype shell and three juvenile paratypes of this species are known. It differs from other similarly-sized Monodilepas monilifera subsp. in being more broadly ovate, not attenuated anteriorly, in having a much smaller foramen, and also in the more conspicuously netted sculpture.
The holotype shell height is 2.2 mm, width 8.1 mm, and length 10 mm.
