[edit] Distribution
This subspecies is endemic to the Auckland Islands of New Zealand
[edit] Habitat
This keyhole limpet is found at depths of about 11 m.
[edit] Shell description
The shell is oval, narrowed anteriorly as in other Monodilepas species, but with a slightly smaller foramen, and different sculptural development, in that the radials are dominant. The concentric ridges are very weak and confined to the early stages of the shell.
The radula appears to differ from that of the typical Monodilepas species: the fifth lateral tooth has a longer and more narrowly tapered cusp.
The maximum shell height is 3.6 mm, width 10 mm, and length 14 mm.
