Monir Fakhri Abdel Nour

Monir Fakhri Abdel Nour (August 21, 1945)i s a member of the Pan-African Parliament from Egypt. He also head's the Reperesentative Group of the New Wafd Party in the People's Assembly.

Graduated from Cairo University, Faculty of Economics & Political studies. Obtained a M.A. degree in Economics from the American University in Cairo (A.U.C.).Banker and Businessman, founder of Egyptian Finance Company S.A.E. and of Societe Egypto Francaise pour les Industries agro-alimentaires S.A.E., Joined the Wafd Party in 1984.

Was appointed in the higher committee of the party in 1996, elected member of the Egyptian Parliament in November 2000, elected head of the Wafd Parliamentary group and as such head of opposition in Parliament. Elected member of the higher committee of the Wafd in 2001, then Vice-President of the Party, Member of the Pan-African Parliament,Member of the Egyptian National Council for Human Rights, Member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Federation of Industries and of the Egyptian Competition Authority.
