In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy roleplaying game, mongrelfolk are humanoids that are the product of several generations of crossbreeding between numerous other humanoid races. Each mongrelfolk, or "mongrelman," has a unique appearance, taking on various features from any or all of its ancestral races.

Mongrelfolk are often lawful neutral. Mongrelfolk are excellent mimics, and can reproduce just about any sound they have ever heard.

[edit] Society

Mongrelfolk worship the god Meriadar. While in older editions of Dungeons & Dragons mongrelfolk were defined as deformed outcasts, recent sourcebooks (Races of Destiny, Wizards of the Coast, 2006) gave them the special ability to appear as members of any other race (except that of the onlooker). As such they mix into humanoid society by impersonation rather than being outcast.
