Moneglia is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Genoa in the Italian region Liguria, located about 50 km southeast of Genoa. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,804 and an area of 15.4 km².[1]

The municipality of Moneglia contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Bracco, Lemeglio, and San Saturnino.

Moneglia borders the following municipalities: Casarza Ligure, Castiglione Chiavarese, Deiva Marina, Sestri Levante.

The town is a typical enchanting Riviera resort that is perhaps beyond its heyday.

Out of season it is very quiet and a great alternative to the very expensive and more crowded towns along this delightful coast.

Moneglia's main road links to the "outside world" are via a long series of ancient tunnels through which the flow of vehicles is controlled by traffic lights.

This means that drivers can face a wait of up to twenty minutes before they get a green light to proceed.
