The Monaghan Pipe Band is a grade two pipe band based in New York City. It competes as a member of the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association, and also participates in community events and parades promoting awareness of Irish and Scottish piping and drumming.[1]
The band was founded in 1929, making it one of the oldest pipe bands in the United States.[2] Byrne O'Sullivan is the current pipe major. [3] Monaghan placed 2nd at the Rockland County Feis and third in three other competitions during the 2007 EUSPBA season.[4]
