Nice article; very well researched! But, shouldn't it be under the common name? If only Eumeces egregius (and its subspecies) is commonly known as a mole skink, that's where the article should be moved to (as per naming conventions). Right? -- Hadal 13:46, 23 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Right. But I'm no biologist—all this info is from public domain USFWS sites! I can only take credit for selecting, formatting, and occasional rewriting. I very carefully phrased the opening sentence as "Mole skinks of the family Eumeces egregius..." precisely because I do not know whether there are other mole skinks... Lupo 14:13, 23 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Regardless, you've done a great job. I did a search, and the first 15 or so pages all mention "mole skink" as some subspecies of E. egregius. This page also agrees. I don't know if it's possible to move a page to an existing redirect, but I'm going to try.. (if it turns out there are other "mole skinks", you can blame me! ;)) Hadal 14:42, 23 Feb 2004 (UTC)

I have asked Barry Mansell whether he would release his Bluetail Mole Skink image (shown e.g. at [1]) under the GFDL or maybe even as a public domain image. (Note that although this image appears on an USFWS site, it is copyrighted; the USFWS explicitly warns about such cases at [2].) I'll report his answer here (when and if I get one).
