Molly McQueen (real name Molly Decima Ure) was born March 7, 1987 in the London Borough of Westminster, and was the lead singer of the band The Faders, with whom she performed under the name Molly Lorenne. Molly has described her music as being "Pop punk with a sixties edge".

She is the daughter of musician Midge Ure and model Annabel Giles. This often leads to confusion over her surname (as people assume she is called Molly Ure). She has three half-sisters, Kitty, Ruby and Flossy, and a brother, Ted. The family also own a dog called Morrigan. When asked what she must have with her at all times Molly says her mobile and her iPod.

Molly had sung with a jazz band at school in South London. "A teacher said I had a great jazz voice, and I said, ‘But I don’t want to BE a jazz singer!’" Molly grew up listening to Destiny's Child and India.Arie. She knew Brian Rawlings, Mark Taylor and Jeff Taylor, aka the Metrophonic production team and was introduced to Toy and Cherisse - the other members of the Faders at an audition in South London.

Molly has also became a fond follower of the Rave scene "I love being in an atmosphere where people don’t judge you, and are there just to have a good time!"

[edit] Solo Project

On 6 July 2006 it was revealed that The Faders had split and Molly was going solo. She is re-releasing "No Sleep Tonight" under the name of Molly McQueen. A video for the song was featured on the DVD version of My Super Ex-Girlfriend under special features. Since going solo she has started performing in pubs and clubs around London and a solo album is due later this year. McQueen has been working with so many people for her first solo album including Paul Barry, Marco and Chris formerly from "Adam and the Ants", Future Freakz, Mark Taylor and Katie Melua. McQueen co-wrote on Katie Melua's third album, Pictures on a track called "Perfect Circle".
