Mokujin (木人 Mokujin?, lit. "wood person") is a character in the Tekken fighting game series inspired by the Jackie Chan movie Shaolin Chamber of Death. He is a wooden training dummy who comes to life at the presence of powerful evil. He has no fighting style of his own, and instead swaps between the fighting styles of the other characters. At the beginning of a fight, Mokujin will assume another character's fighting style at random. In this aspect, mastering Mokujin requires mastery of all the other Tekken characters' movesets.

[edit] History
[edit] Tekken 3
Mokujin, a wooden combat training doll made from a 2,000 year-old oak tree, was awakened when Ogre, the God of Fighting, was released. After Jin Kazama defeated Ogre in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 3, Mokujin grew lifeless once more, but he had a smile on his face (stated in Mokujin's Tekken 5 Prologue).
[edit] Tekken 5
With the awakening of another powerful evil entity (Jinpachi Mishima), Mokujin has come to life once more, and it is said to be unknown that when Mokujin would be free. After the defeat of Jinpachi Mishima, Mokujin again became lifeless.
[edit] Tekken 6
Mokujin is a training dummy made from a 2,000-year-old oak tree. Sensing evil's presence, Mokujin once again sets out to save the world.
[edit] Endings
Tekken 3
- This ending is more comical than anything, with no impact on the story. Mokujin is awakened by his wife, who hands him two empty wood buckets and forces him to fill them at a nearby lake. He reluctantly fills the buckets, letting out a frustrated sigh as he begins to drag them back. As he walks through the woods, he notices a wooden Tekken 3 arcade machine and begins to play, selecting himself and his wife as his opponent. As he pummels his wife into oblivion, he begins clapping for himself, pausing when he realizes she's behind him. As he turns to face her, she uppercuts him, sending both water buckets spilling over him.
Tekken Tag Tournament
- Mokujin leads a traditional kung fu routine with at least 40 other Mokujin.
Tekken 5
- Mokujin defeats Jinpachi, and Jinpachi turns into dust afterwards. With Jinpachi's death, Mokujin becomes lifeless once more and falls to the ground. Dark clouds begin to part and a beam of light shines on Mokujin, causing a small leaf to sprout from his nose.
[edit] Trivia
- Mokujin (or at least an army of them) appeared once in the Negima! manga when they are pitted against Negi Springfield and Makie Sasaki by Ku Fei.
- Mokujin appeared as a cameo in Midori Days in the arcade where Seiji sawamura was playing with Shiori

Tetsujin (鉄人 Tetsujin?, lit. "iron person") appeared in Tekken Tag Tournament as a palette swap for Mokujin.
[edit] Description
Whereas Mokujin is constructed of wood, Tetsujin is constructed of metal. Both characters use the fighting styles of the other characters, and they both switch fighting styles between each round. On Namco's official site, this style is referred to as "Mokujin-ken", for Mokujin. For Tetsujin, when Tetsujin's "Command List" is viewed, instead of Tetsujin's moves, "Tetsujin-Ken" will be the only thing there.
