Mokdad Sifi

Mokdad Sifi (Arabic: مقداد سيفي) (born 1940) is an Algerian politician. Sifi was Prime Minister from 11 April 1994 - 31 December 1995. Sifi was a Member of Parliament and once considered running for the Presidency, but withdrew in April 1999 along with 6 of the 7 candidates allowing the only remaining candidate, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, to become president. He was said to have favored a market-oriented economy and no amnesty for the Islamic Salvation Front.
