Mojtaba Pourmohsen

Mojtaba Pourmohsen, an Iranian poet, journalist and translator was born in rasht in 1979. He started his work in 2000 and worked as a critic for popular newspapers such as Hamshahri, Sedaaye Edaalat, Roozegaar, Hambastegi, Etemaad.

Also since 2002 to 2003 he has worked regurarly for Etemaadnewspaper and Hambasteginewspaper. Pourmohsen woked for Sharghnewspaper, one of the most popular reformist newspaper. But Shargh has been off by the govern 3times and one time, an interview by Pourmohsen was the only cause for being off by the government. In reality when he was a poem editor in Sharghnewspaper, because of his interview with Saghi Ghahreman an Iranian lesbian who lives in Canada, became an excuse for the government to close down the Sharghnewspaper.[1] Also Pourmohsen was a literary critic in Shargh all the time that shargh was published. He cooperated with literary magazines such as Asre Panjshanbeh, Karnaameh, Naafeh, Naameh, Simiaa, Khaanesh, Kelk…

Two collections of poems by Pourmohsen was printed. One of them “ I want myself to meet an accident, Mrs nurse” was published in 2000 by Namjoo Fard publication, and another book “sevens” was printed in 2006 by Hezareye Sevome Andisheh publication. Also Pourmohsen has 4 books has been waiting to get official approval. Three of them are translation and another one is his own collection of poems:

1.“A Man Without Country” by Kurt Vonnegut is translated by Pourmohsen.

2.“Writing is my fate” a collection of interview with important poets, writers and playwriters, is translated by Pourmohsen.

3.“Foot’s fingers” a selection of poems by Ramond Carver that is translated by Pourmohsen.

4.“One Man Tango” an own collection of poems by Pourmohsen.

Since December 2006, Pourmohsen has worked with Radiozamaneh. He is critic, editor and broadcaster of radiozamaneh. Pourmohsen works as a editor in GilanToday, and he became best journalist in National Journalism Festival in 2005, also he was selected as a best journalist 4times in Provincial Journalism Festival.
