MOJO HD is a subsidiary of iN DEMAND Networks, a leading Pay Per View (PPV) and Video on Demand (VOD) provider in the United States. The channel replaced INHD on May 1, 2007.
[edit] Overview
The company is owned by Comcast iN Demand Holdings, Inc., Cox Communications Inc., and the Time Warner Entertainment–Advance-Newhouse partnership and is available on Bright House, Cablevision, Charter, Comcast, Cox, Mediacom, and Time Warner cable systems.
MOJO HD is a dedicated high-definition television channel available only on cable TV in the USA. However, the channel is currently in negotiations with satellite providers to potentially offer MOJO HD on their high definition programming lineup. MOJO HD will also be available on Verizon FiOS channel 682 starting June 30, 2007 in Indiana and will expand nationally over the summer. [1]
The network broadcasts all content in high definition 1080i format and 5.1 audio.
MOJO HD is a 24-hour linear cable network, and is not pay-per-view. It is available to cable subscribers with HD service in every major cable system across the U.S., usually at no additional charge other than the cost of the HD cable tuner. The channel features original programming, movies and sports programming. MOJO HD is geared to the lifestyle interests of affluent males and also features a website (www.mojohd.com) with numerous build-outs that connect with its fan-base including the MOJO widget, streaming episodes, store and interactive forums. MOJO HD programming can found on other digital platforms such as Amazon Unboxed, JOOST, Hulu and others.
iN Demand ceased operation of INHD2, which was a companion network to INHD, on January 1, 2007.
[edit] Programming
MOJO HD airs original programming series such as After Hours with Daniel, Three Sheets, I Bet You, Pressure Cook, Wall Street Warriors, Bobby G: Adventure Capitalist, Start-Up Junkies, Dr. Danger, The King of Miami, The Show, and Uncorked with Billy Merritt. Other shows include London Live, Hooked, Timeless and Beer Nutz.
MOJO HD airs select NBA TV games in HD, as many cable providers do not yet carry NBA TV HD, though games are blacked out on systems which do not carry NBA TV or the network airs a game in a team's market area, where the broadcaster in that area receives preference over MOJO HD.
The channel acquired the off-network rights for Heroes in high definition starting in October 2007.
