About meI recently received a PhD in aerospace engineering at MIT, in the subdiscipline of multidisciplinary design optimization. I'm now working as a postdoctoral researcher. My attitude towards Wikipedia has a very heavy emphasis towards not biting the newcomers and civility. I am an administrator, but very inactive these days. |

So, the flapper, a human-carrying engine-powered ornithopter built by James DeLaurier and his team at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies finally flew. A few years ago I was one of DeLaurier's students, and I wrote a flight simulator for the flapper. I also used to go out to Downsview Airport and test it. Here is a picture from back then. I'm the one holding the cat and the radio. |
