Moist (folk rock band)

- This article is about the 1990s band from Brighton. For other uses of the name Moist, see Moist (disambiguation).
Moist was, in 1993 and 1994, a band based in Brighton, England, which performed in a loosely folk-rock style.
This band was somewhat lower-profile than its Canadian namesake and upon learning of the name clash, arranged to change its name; however, the Brighton band disbanded soon afterwards, for unconnected reasons, and was never well-known by any other name.
One eponymous cassette with 7 songs is known to have been produced, including original compositions "Crave" and "Brighton Song", and a cover version of "It's All Mine", originally by World Party. During their career they graduated from a first gig in a small basement wine bar in Hove, to gigs in Brighton's popular "Concorde" venue.
Some members of the band went on to be involved with another Brighton-based band, Flannel.
