Mohd Radzi Sheikh Ahmad

Dato' Seri Mohd Radzi Sheikh Ahmad was the Malaysian Minister of Home Affairs. He was born on 24 February 1942 in Kangar, Perlis. He is married to Datin Seri Mahani Binti Abdul Hamid. Before his current cabinet position, he was appointed Minister of the Prime Minister's Department by Abdullah Badawi in 2004. He is a member of UMNO and Member of Parliament for Kangar.

Other positions he held were Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (1983-1984) and Deputy Minister for the Primary Industries Ministry (1984-1986).

On March 20, 2008, Datuk Seri Mohd Radzi Sheikh Ahmad has resigned as Barisan Nasional and Umno secretary-general with immediate effect, saying he would not be able to work effectively without a Cabinet post. Radzi, the former Home Affairs Minister who retained his Kangar parliamentary seat in the general election, explained that he would not be able to perform for several reasons.[1]
