Coordinates: Mohanur is a panchayat town in Namakkal district in Tamil Nadu state of India.

Mohanur is located at [1]. It has an average elevation of 143 metres (469 feet). It is on the bed of river Cauvery. Located near Namakkal(18km) and Karur(13km). The special feature of Mohanur is that it is the only place where Cauvery runs from north to south.It is also famous for historic temples which is visited by thousands of hindu communities from all over the state and world. one of the few sugar factories in tamilnadu is located in Mohanur. Navaladiyan Kovil which is located in the border of mohanur and Kumaripalayam, is very famous. Kumariplayam is a small village where around 150 families living. One of the nearby village is Maniyankalipatti which is unique for people from maniyan koottam(subdivision of Kongu vellala Gounder community)supposed to be from same family historically live in this same village. Their main occupation is agriculture but higher educational opportunities have transformed their occupation with many people living abroad now.

As of 2001 India census[2], Mohanur had a population of 12,468. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Mohanur has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 66%. In Mohanur, 9% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Kumaripalayam is situated at east to Mohanur and it is one of greenary villages in Namakal district and constructed by around 150 families. It is very closer to Mohanur-Namakkal road. The Lord Navaladiyan is one of the famous Temples in kumaripalayam Border for Kongu vellalar community all over Tamilnadu. Kumaripalayam is one of the Biggest panchayat villages in Namakkal District.There are number of agriculture crops are cultivated here such as variety of Bananas, Sugarcane,Paddy and Greenleaf is the main business in and around kumaripalayam. Even though most people are involving with agriculture, the literacy rate is high in kumaripalayam village. Around 20 families are living abroad where people are mostly in USA, UK and Singapore. There are people who are travelling from west part (Velur-palapatti- The salem Co-op sugar factory-mohanur) to Trichy the road leads through Kumaripalayam (by Kattuputur-Thottiyam-Musiri). The adjacent cities around kumaripalayam are Vangal-south (karur district), Mohanur-west, Oruvandur East, Rasipalayam-North.
