The culture of Mohanpur is very similar to that of Balasore district in Orissa owing to the proximity. In fact one of the oldest temples is a Jagannath temple which was built in 1811.[1]. Other notable temples are the Raghunath temple from the 18th century and the Lakshmi temple from the 19th century. [1]

Mohanpur is located at 28.27° N 80.25° E[2]. It has an average elevation of 2 metres (9 feet).
