Mohammed Murtuza Siddiqui was born 1935 in Hyderabad Deccan in a family of Islamic Theologians, Huffaz and Scholars, his father Maulana Hafiz Mohammed Mehmood Siddiqui was known for his contributions to the poetic translation of the Qur'an into English by Mohammed Marmaduke Pickthall (1875–May 19, 1936).
He studied,lived and worked in India, USA, Sudan and Saudi Arabia. Author of The Message of the Qur`an As interpreted by Maulana Azad. Prof. Mohammad Murtuza Siddiqui, a noted Islamic scholar and teacher at Riyadh University held a doctorate from Osmania University. Dr. Siddiqui had done post-doctoral studies at California University. He had done research on works of Hazrat Abdul Quader Jeelani and educational philosophy of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. He was a multifaceted personage and a rare Muslim researcher in the contributions of the Islamic Civilization to Science and Technology. Dr.Siddiqui was a great scholar, voracious reader ,eloquent speaker and above all a sincere personality. Spoke on 'Sufism of Islam, Vedantism of Hinduism and Evangelism of Christianity.
He was the first Indian to be a faculty Member at the Institute of Diplomatic Studies, an affiliate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Siddiqui's mission of life was erudition and skillful presentation of Islamic Thought and Philosophy in the contemporary context, both in theory and practice. He lectured in several countries: Jordan, Syria, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, USA, UK, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland and Italy. He was a great visionary who suggested that the future of India is in a significant role of mutual respect for the different religions. His popularity is because of his versatile genius.
He authored three books on Islamic Civilization and hundreds of articles on Islam.
