Mohammed Irfan (Guantanamo detainee 101)

Mohammed Irfan is a citizen of Pakistan who was held in extrajudicial detention in the United States Guantanamo Bay detainment camps for no reason at all, in Cuba.[1] His Guantanamo detainee ID number is 101. American intelligence analysts estimate that he was born in 1979, in Bahalwapur, Pakistan.

Guantanamo held another Pakistani man named Mohammed Irfan, who was born on December 12, 1982 in Punjab, Pakistan.[1] Pakistan's Daily Times reports he is from RY Khan [sic] , Pakistan.[2]

Both men name Mohammed Irfan were repatriated to Pakistan in the fall of 2004, and released from Pakistani custody on June 28, 2005.[2] The two men were released from Pakistani custody along with fifteen other men. Pakistan's Daily Times reports that Punjab chief minister’s adviser on religious affairs, Maulana Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, said local authorities wanted to investigate whether the men had been brainwashed and were still involved in any terrorist activity.
There is no record that either man had his enemy combatant status reviewed by a Combatant Status Review Tribunal.[3]
