Mohammed Amon is one of the sixteen Guantanamo captives whose amalgamated habeas corpus submissions were heard by US District Court Judge Reggie B. Walton on January 31, 2007.[1]

The Department of Defense initially planned to keep the identities of the Guantanamo captives secret. But the DoD was forced, by court order to release a list of the captive's names on May 15, 2006.[2] Mohammed Amon is notable because even though he is clearly in detention in Guantanamo his name is missing from the official lists, at least by that spelling.
