[edit] leads
A good article is supposed to have a lead that summarizes the rest. Not everyone wants to read the whole thing. Just add like 3 sentances.--Urthogie 11:43, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

- Also, it'd be good to establish its significance (both in the lead and throughout) in how much money its made, especially through "superproducers" such as The Neptunes, Kanye West, et al. What i mean is-- show how much money you can make off of this here "hip hop production", mistah.--Urthogie 11:55, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- Ten royalty points on any song at most when starting out, and that's generous. Most producers start with two. Besides, it has absolutely no relevance on hip-hop production in general. --Mod 11:57, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'm saying you need to establish why hip hop production is relevant in this capitalist society of ours.--Urthogie 11:58, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- It's as relevant as any other form of music or film production. The money aspect relies on royalties and advances. --Mod 12:01, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'm saying you should establish that you can get millions of dollars in royalties for doing it at the top of the industry.--Urthogie 12:40, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- Why? --Mod 12:41, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- Because it helps establish significance. Hip hop production plays more of a role in the world cus guys from the street can make so much money off it. If it weren't for the royalties, it would be a much different situation.--Urthogie 12:51, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- Guys off the street can make money selling drugs, playing basketball, pro wrestling, or being bodyguards. They can also be thieves, money launderers, and con artists. It doesn't matter that a certain profession makes money. That's entirely implicit, since it is a job. I don't see "Surgery" listing how much money a surgeon makes, neither do I see that in "Rapping." There's absolutely no qualifiable need for this knowledge, one could find this out of their own volition. --Mod 14:34, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

- It is mentioned that rap has become popular and incorporated in all other forms of modern music that have a heavy beat.--Urthogie 20:51, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- How is that even remotely related to the "need to establish why hip hop production is relevant in this capitalist society?" And this: "All popular music genres with a focus on percussion have contained rapping at some point" definitely doesn't cut the mustard. --Mod 02:45, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Sl1200mk2.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Sl1200mk2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an arguement why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FuriousFreddy 15:41, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Condensermic.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Condensermic.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. FuriousFreddy 15:44, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
